1. Introduction and Acceptance

1.1 Introduction

These rules govern all player proceedings for the LANFest $1,000 FIFA Charity Tournament (“Event”).

These rules have been created to reinforce a fun and fair environment for all participants, and to invigorate the competitive community for Fortnite to uphold good sportsmanship in all competitive activities.

1.2 Participance and Acceptance

By playing in this Event, you agree to adhere to these rules at all times. By participating in any match as part of the Event, the player. The player must be over

1.3 Enforcement

LANFest and its event partners will have sole responsibility for enforcing these rules for all players and have the right to hand out penalties to players for any violations accordingly.

1.4 Amendments

LANFest and its event partners reserve the right to update, revise, or modify these rules from time to time. All player’s participation in the Event after any modification to these rules will signify acceptance of any modifications.

2. Event Structure

2.1 Definition of Terms

“Best-of-X”: means a Match that has X number of Games, and the player that gains the most points across the X games is declared the winner.

“Game”: means a single competition between multiple players.

“Match”: means Event play between many players that may involve multiple Games, as described in 2.3 Event Format.

2.2 Schedule

The Event will consist of a single bracket stage, which will span a single day.

Registration end date:
November 28th, 10:00 AM PST (1:00 PM EST)


Tournament Start:
November 28th, 12:00 PM PST (3:00 PM EST)


2.3 Event Format

2.3.1 Bracket

The Event will consist of a single bracket, with a 128-player registration cap. The bracket will be single elimination, meaning any loss results in the end of play for that player. The player which makes it through the finals without losing any Match will be declared the Grand Champion.


2.3.2 Round Formats

All matches will be ‘Best-of-3’, and a player requires two (2) Game wins to be declared the victor.


3. Game Rules


3.1 Match Rules

Each match follows a ‘Best-of-3’ format to be played on any available field. Players will register themselves and be assigned Matches to play on the tournament platform.

3.2 Match Settings

3.3 Match Procedures

3.3.1 Lobby Creation

Players will choose one player from each match to be the designated lobby host. The lobby host player will create the lobby following the Match Format outlined in 3.2 “Match Settings”. The Lobby host will be the higher seeded team (top on the bracket)

3.3.2 Region

Server region will be determined by the game.

3.3.3 Game Start

All players must wait until all players have joined the game server. In the case that a Match is chosen to be presented on an official broadcast, a member of the production team will notify the Game lobby.

3.3.4 Substitution

Substitution can not occur as this is a solos tournament.

3.3.5 Coaching

Coaches are allowed to assist their players throughout matches, but are not permitted to join the in-game lobby of any match in the Event. All spectator restrictions in 3.3.7 Spectating also apply to coaches. Coaches are not counted as a team member and as such will not be included in the prize distribution. Coaches are allowed to join a player's voice chat.

3.3.6 Remakes

Remakes are allowed unilaterally if less than 30 seconds have passed and a goal has not been scored.

Players are responsible for contacting the admins and keeping an eye on communications from admins in the first two minutes of a match in case of a remake.

3.3.7 Spectating

Spectating Event matches in-game are forbidden, except for approved LANFest partners and broadcasters. Unauthorized spectating of matches can result in match forfeiture and/or removal from the Event.

3.3.8 Score Reporting

Once each Match has concluded, players will report and verify the Games they won during the Match. If a score is falsely reported, contact an Event Admin immediately. All players must save screenshots of the final score screen for each Game and send them to an Admin. Any other available proof such as video recording or game files should be saved, in case they are requested to submit proof of score by an Event Admin. If a player is found to submit false scores, they may be exposed to any applicable punishment outlined in 8.2 “Disciplinary Action”.

3.4 Team Rosters

3.4.1 Rosters

This is a solos tournaments so teams will be made up of single players.

3.5 Match Obligations

3.5.1 Punctuality

All players of a match must be present to participate in a match. Players not ready 5 minutes before Match start time (as communicated to Teams by the Event Admins) are subject to match forfeiture.

3.5.2 Forfeits

Players are not allowed to forfeit a match without contacting one of the Event Admins. Forfeits are unilateral and final, and should only be used in extreme circumstances.

3.5.3 Communication

Players will provide communication to the Event Admins and their opponents for match readiness, disputes, and general setup via the tournament platform.

 

4. Prizes

4.1 Prize Distribution

Winners will be issued a check once the paperwork has been completed. All prizes will be paid within 60 days of the event concluding.

4.2 Prize Information

Winners will be contacted by the admins once the tournament has concluded.

Your name, email, and gamer tag, will be retained for one year for the use of tournament running, prize payment information collection, and to facilitate successful prize money distribution.

5. Player Eligibility

5.1 Player Age

Players must be at least 18 years of age at the start time for the Event  in order to participate in the tournament.

5.2 Team and Player Name, Logo, and Avatar Restrictions

RTS reserves the right to ask any player or Team to change their name, logo, and/or avatar if deemed inappropriate by the Event Admin Team.

5.3 Good Standing

All players must also be in good standing with respect to LANFest AND Fortnite. No player may participate in matches if outstanding penalties apply to them that would limit their ability to participate.

6. Team Formation Rules

6.1 A Team must be composed of exactly 1 member.

6.2 Each player on a must satisfy all applicable rules and must register on the designated tournament platform.

7. Code of Conduct

7.1 General

7.1.1 No Toxic Behavior

7.1.2 Players must treat all other players, administrators, moderators, and fans with respect.

7.1.3 Players may not act in a manner that violates these rules or any other manner that is disruptive to the enjoyment of the Event and/or game.

7.1.4 Any violations may result in a penalty, including but not limited to match forfeiture or Event disqualification.

7.2 Personal Conduct

All players must conduct themselves in a way that is consistent with the Code of Conduct outlined in this section as well as the principles of good sportsmanship, honesty, and integrity.

7.3 Competitive Integrity

All players are expected to play to the best of their ability, and without the use of any third party tools that provide an unfair advantage.

7.4 Harassment

Players are prohibited from engaging in any form of harassment, bullying, or other discriminatory conduct based on race, color, ethnicity, social or economic status, sexual orientation, gender identification, disability, or any other status or characteristic protected under applicable law.

7.5 Illegal Conduct

Players are required to comply with all applicable laws at all times.

8. Rules and Conduct Violations

8.1 Investigation and Compliance

Upon LANFest awareness of any violation, RTS, to the best of its ability, will perform investigations on the misconduct and take appropriate action where necessary.

8.2 Disciplinary Action

If LANFest has concluded that a violation has occurred and action must be taken, the following, but not limited to, may occur(where applicable):

8.3 Rule Disputes

RTS holds final authority over all disputes with respect to these rules and the interpretation thereof.

9. Conditions

The Event is subject to these Rules. By participating, each player (or the player’s parent or legal guardian, if the player is a minor) agrees to the following: (a) to be bound by these complete Event rules and (b) to waive any right to claim ambiguity in the Event or these rules, except where prohibited by applicable law. By accepting a prize, the winning player and/or Team agrees (or the player’s parent or legal guardian, if the player is a minor) to release LANFest from any and all liability or damage arising from or in connection with the receipt of the prize. LANFest shall not be liable for internet connection issues, computer hardware malfunctions, computer software malfunctions, disconnections, or any other issues related to gameplay experience. LANFest reserves the right to cancel the tournament for any reason, including natural or artificial disasters. LANFest may disqualify any player from participating in the Event or winning a prize if it determines the player is attempting to undermine the competitive integrity of the Event by cheating, hacking, or otherwise disobeying these rules. LANFest is not responsible for any problems, bugs, or malfunctions players may encounter while participating in the Event.
